The Mid Buchanan Dragons took advantage of each Orrick mistake Friday night in a 56-0 win over the visiting Bearcats. The victory marked the debut of new Dragon head coach Ron Musser, while spoiling the first outing for new Orrick coach Nick Chapman.
Orrick committed seven turnovers in the game that Mid Buchanan turned into five touchdowns on the way to building a 47-0 advantage at the intermission.
The Bearcats lost five fumbles and had two more passes intercepted.
The Dragons bolted to a 28-0 lead in the opening period as Tanner Wisneski scored on the third play from scrimmage on their opening possession. Wisneski broke loose for a 25-yard run on his way to a 104-yard rushing night on just 4 carries. The Dragons ended the evening with 268 yards on the ground, while quarterback Dalton Robinson completed all three of his pass attempts for 58 more yards. Two of those completions went for touchdowns after Grant Schottel pushed the Mid Buchanan lead to 14-0. Braydn Kemper hauled in a 25-yard scoring strike and Alec Bullimore caught a 22-yard touchdown pass to cap off the first quarter scoring. Colton Hoffman booted all four extra-point attempts in the first frame.
