Dustin Allen Morton, ‘Big D’, 21, passed away suddenly Saturday, Sept, 14.
He was born July 3, 1992 in Lexington, to Shawn Morton and Tammy Morton. Dustin attended grade school at Leslie Bell in Lexington, and later Hazel Grove Elementary in Lee’s Summit. Dustin graduated from Lee’s Summit North in 2010.
Dustin was a best friend to everyone. His effusive energy and love of life flowed into everything he did. Dustin loved to work out at the gym with his dad, brother, Christopher and many friends. Most of his time was spent shooting hoops and playing on various basketball teams around the area. Dustin loved music and could always be found dancing anywhere, anytime. “Dance then wherever you may be…”
He leaves behind his dad, step-mother, Gail Morton, brothers, Christopher Morton, Blake Wrisinger, and sister, Elizabeth Wrisinger, Tammy Morton and Bill Payne, grandmothers, Annette Erickson and Bobbie Erickson of Warrensburg and Maxine Wrisinger of Richmond, grandfather Allen Morton of Slater and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Dustin’s celebration of life will be held at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, Lee’s Summit, Tuesday, Sept. 17. Visitation will be 9 to 11:30 a.m. with the service following at noon. Cremation.
