Donation benefits Ray MVCAA clients

Michelle Zwiers, center, an outreach specialist for the Missouri Valley Community Action Agency office in Richmond, accepted a $250 donation Tuesday from Nena McKown, office manager for the driver’s license bureau, right, and Dawn Haynes, the bureau’s revenue clerk. The gift is part of a community-support program the Lexington Chamber of Commerce has sponsored here since 2009, when the chamber began managing the license office. In her application, Zwiers said funds from a donation would help pay for local expenses such as gas money for families needing to visit a medical specialist or to cover insurance co-pays for low-income Ray County residents filling a prescription.
