Roberta R. “Bobbie” Glavin, 71, of Richmond, passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at her home in Richmond.
Bobbie was born Sept. 19, 1941 in Richmond, to Samuel J. and Geneva (McGinnis) Burton. She married William “Bill” Glavin of Richmond, July 2, 1971. He preceded her in death.
Bobbie had worked in the banking business for over thirty-five years. She had worked for Traders Bank in Kansas City and retired as a Loan Processor for Bank of America. She worked for C. D. Holtzen in Richmond and was a bookkeeper for the Henrietta Road District. She was a member of the Henrietta First Baptist Church. She had lived in Richmond most of her life.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Grass and her husband, Trent of Richmond, Cecelia Lynn Peoples of Blue Springs; two sisters and their spouses, Bonnie K. and Jim Lewis of Richmond, and Vicki and Royce Schmalz of Springfield, Va.; three grandchildren, Rickie Hicks and his wife, Sheena, Deedra Hicks, David Peoples and his wife, Nicole; seven great-grandchildren also survive, Brennen, Greenli and Everlee Hicks, Christian, Gage and Teran Coats and Isabella Peoples; one niece and two nephews also survive as well as several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her husband, Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Richmond Beautification.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be held in the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
