Charles William ‘Charlie’ O’Dell, 67, of Richmond, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Charlie was born Dec. 2, 1945 in Ray County, to Harold Ralph “Junior” and Hazel (Hendrix) O’Dell.
Charlie worked at Ford Motor Company in the paint department for 37 years before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the U.A.W. Union Local #249. Charlie was a lifelong Ray County Resident. He was a member of the St. Paul Christian Union Church in Knoxville.
Survivors include his father, Harold Ralph “Junior” O’Dell of Richmond; two daughters and son-in-law, Robyn L. McCarter of Richmond and Tracy and Matt Marmoy of Richmond; one brother, James O’Dell of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Todd, Ashley, Kenny, Jake, Chelsea, Anthony and Kayden; and two great-grandchildren, Otto and Tucker.
Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel O’Dell.
The Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
