Two former Richmond Spartans along with several other area football standouts from the past football season will be back on the gridiron one more time to close out their high school career Saturday night. The 37th annual Missouri Lions All-Star football game will kickoff at 7 p.m. Saturday at Walton Stadium/Vernon Kennedy Field on the campus of the University of Central Missouri.
Tevin Robinson and Derek Rickart will be among the top football talent from across the state suiting up for the contest that benefits the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation.
Robinson, a running back, will be on the Gold team coached by Matt Webb of Maryville High School. Rickart will be at defensive end and will be on the Blue team coached by Mark Barousse of Poplar Bluff High School. Robinson will be continuing his football career at Central Methodist University in Fayette, while Rickart will be playing college ball at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan.
Other area members of the Gold team are Zachary Freeman, a running back from Polo, who will be attending Graceland University, and Justin Hicks, a linebacker from Polo, who will also be going to Graceland.
