Louise Nelson, 83, of Richmond, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at North Care Hospice House.
Louise was born Feb. 6, 1930 in Chicago, Ill. to Andrew and Lillian (Rogers) Johnson. She married Houston Nelson in Chicago. Louise lived in Richmond for 50-plus years and was a member of the A.M.E. Church of Richmond for 20-plus years.
Louise is survived by one daughter, Yolanda Greer of Richmond; three sons, Van Nelson of Orlando, Fla., Steve Nelson and wife Lynnlea of Olathe, Kan. and Kendell Nelson and wife Margaret of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Dara Bryant of Chicago; 14 grandchildren, Briant Carson, Dennis Bryant, Derrick Bryant, Theodore Greer, Vanidee Nelson, David Alexander Nelson, Trey Nelson, Krishan Nelson, Brandon Baker, Kendsey Nelson, Trenton Nelson, Brock Nelson, Brecken Nelson and Raeylynn Nelson; and three great-grandchildren, Daisha Bryant, Celeste Greer and Patience Greer.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Houston Nelson; two sons, Fred Carson and Dennis Bryant; and two sisters.
Visitation was 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the A.M.E. Church of Richmond with funeral services folliowing. Interment is in Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond.
