The Humane Society of Ray County has a selection of adoptable cats and dogs at its shelter. Regular adoption days are each Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at 200 S. College St. (the old county jail).
Adoption coordinator Shirley Saulter can answer questions and set up times for shelter visits at 816-776-8576 or 816-456-4976.
Adoption fees are $100 for dogs or $80 for cats, which includes spay/neutering, shots, tests and microchipping for dogs.
Information on these pets and others at the shelter is available at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/MO513.html or at www.humanesocietyofraycounty.org.
The pets pictured in the print version of the Richmond News are Missy, a shorthair, mostly white female cat about 18 months old. She’s a bit shy but when she feels safe, she is affectionate and loves to be petted. Hank is a Labrador Retriever mix. He’s friendly and plays well with other dogs. He would probably do well in agility training classes. Issy is a Calico shorthair. She’s friendly and outgoing. She loves attention and will make sure you notice her. The cats room together at the shelter.
