Richmond Public Schools received seven applications from individuals interested in completing the final year of a school board seat vacated last month.
At a special meeting Tuesday, the board reviewed applications and decided to interview the candidates in open session at 7 p.m. May 7. The individual chosen to fill the vacancy would be sworn in May 14, the board’s next scheduled meeting.
The applicants, all Richmond residents, are James R. Schmidt, April Maulsby, Valerie Miller, Jason Berning, Tof McWilliams, Stephanie Landwehr and Donna Baker.
Schmidt and Miller are former school board members. Maulsby and McWilliams were unsuccessful candidates for a seat in the April 2 election. Berning is a former city councilman. Landwehr is executive vice president of Community Bank of Missouri.
