A registered sex offender is in Ray County jail after a Crystal Lakes police officer discovered the 28-year-old man with a 14-year-old girl in his car.
Christopher W. Faircloth, 28, of Liberty is charged with forcible sodomy, statutory sodomy, sexual misconduct with a child under 15 and child molestation. He is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
According to his probable cause statement, officer David Shepherdson, Jr. saw Faircloth and the minor parked on Mark Drive, west of Lake Shore Drive in Crystal Lakes around 3:30 p.m. April 24. The officer made contact with the two, and then was alerted by Ray County dispatch Faircloth was a registered sex offender.
Shepherdson discovered alleged pornographic photographs of Faircloth and the 14-year-old on the girl’s cell phone. Faircloth was placed in custody.
