Lindsey Grider McCune, 28, of Liberty, and formerly of Hardin, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at her home.
Lindsey was born Aug. 28, 1984 in North Kansas City, Mo. to Albert C. and Karen L. (Grider) Johnson. She married Douglas F. McCune of Kansas City, Mo. Nov. 20, 2010; he survives of the home.
Lindsey was a 2003 graduate of Hardin High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from M.W.S.U. in St. Joseph. Lindsey had worked in the Prosecuting Attorney’s office in Carrollton, and then later worked in the business office at Ray County Memorial Hospital. She was enrolled to pursue a nursing degree at William Jewell College in Liberty. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She had lived in Hardin, most of her life before moving to Liberty, three years ago.
Additional survivors include her parents, Al and Karen Johnson of Hardin; one sister, Tonya Palmer of Oak Grove; a niece, Courtney Palmer of Oak Grove, and one step-daughter, Alexandria Marie McCune of Kansas City, Mo.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Humane Society.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at the Hardin Baptist Church in Hardin. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16, from noon to 2 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in the Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne, at a later date. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
