The Orrick Lady Bearcats recorded four first-place finishes at last week’s I-70 Conference track meet held at Lone Jack High School. Three of those wins were recorded by sophomore Samantha Fulte to help Orrick to a fifth-place finish in the team standings with 81 points.
Santa Fe picked up 117 points, with Crest Ridge finishing as the runner-up with 103 points and Lone Jack placed third with 89.
The boys race was a two-team affair with Wellington-Napoleon coming out as meet champions as the Tigers picked up 183 points, while St. Paul finished in second place with 147 points. Crest Ridge was third with 89 points and Orrick ended the afternoon with 25 points and a 10th-place finish.
Fulte won two of her events in the field for the Lady Bearcats. She had a distance of 15 feet, 7 inches to win the long jump, and followed with a leap of 34-9 ½ to capture the triple jump. Fulte broke the tape first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.13 seconds. She also was a runner-up in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.78.
Madison Endsley grabbed the other first-place finish for Orrick with a distance of 109-7 to win the discus, with teammate Sydnee McGlothlin taking second place with a toss of 104-9.
