Born Dec. 18, 1936 in West Pittston, Pa., Colonel Tom ‘Rat’ Williams served with distinction in the United State Marine Corps from 1954 to 1987, serving two combat tours as a Fighter Pilot in Viet Nam.
He is survived by his wife Ann; sons Robert (Julie) Williams, David (Kathy) Williams, and Ryan (Alexis) Small; daughter Carla (Fritz) Gottschalk; granddaughter Alyssa Williams; grandsons Cole Gottschalk and Sullivan Small, one brother, Fred (Julie) Williams.
After military retirement, Tom served on the Richmond Zoning Board, was a member of the local VFW and Richmond Masonic Lodge.
Memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Richmond, on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. Internment with Full Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrier Project.
