Calvin Wayne Keen, 72, of Richmond, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Calvin was born Sept. 9, 1940 in Camden, to Emmett G. and Agnes M. (Dowell) Keen. He married Mary I. Cole of Richmond May 18, 1962; she survives of the home.
Calvin was a United States Marine Corp Veteran, retiring as a gunnery sergeant after 20 years of service before retiring in 1978. He was of the Christian faith. Calvin was a lifetime member of the Richmond American Legion Post # 238 and the Ray County Veterans Post #4398. He had lived in Richmond most of his life.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin Keen of Lawson, and Scott Keen of Excelsior Springs; one daughter, Ginger Keen of Richmond; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Deryl W. and Wanda Keen of Richmond, Jimmy G. and Terry Keen of Richmond and Curtis E. and Paula Keen of Excelsior Springs; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by three sisters, Maxine R. Taylor, Mary J. Alie and Betty A. Keen.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond American Legion Post #238.
Memorial military graveside services will be held Monday, May 13, at 1 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
