Beginning at 8 a.m., The Jesse James Old West Revolver Shoot will be at the James Farm, 21216 Jesse James Farm Road, Kearney. Registration is 8 a.m. and the shoot begins at 9 a.m. Participants can test their skills on the favorite targets of Buck and Dingus, aka Frank and Jesse James and win a prize. Shoot includes: cap and ball revolver and frontier cartridge revolver. Replicas are OK. Fixed sights and dueling stance only. Entrance fee is $15, plus $5 for the additional/special target of the coward Bob Ford. Jesse James medallion prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. At 1 p.m., the Ray County Genealogical Association will meet at the Ray County Museum.  The program will be “Stonewall Jackson’s Military Executions.”  The public is invited.

At 6:30 p.m., the Country Hoedown will be held at the Legion Hall in Holt. Come play, sing or listen. Bring snacks to share. Coffee, soft drinks and tea are provided. Donations benefit the Legion to aid in community projects. For more information, call 816-637-2053.

From 7 to 11 a.m., Friends of Gabriella’s Garden will serve biscuits and sausage gravy at the United Christian Presbyterian Church, 501 North Spartan Drive in Richmond. Cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 10 years of age and under.  Funds raised will go to permanent plantings and other garden improvements.Deliveries and carry outs will be available by calling 816-776-6246.
