A cold and windy Friday greeted 90 golfers and 18 teams Friday at the Shirkey Golf Course for the annual Richmond Invitational.

Liberty, led by tournament co-medalist Zach Dittmer, finished 18 shots ahead of runner-up Rockhurst for its second straight team title. Liberty, which tied Park Hill South for last year’s first-place trophy, shot 318 Friday, with Rockhurst carding a 336.

Dittmer, the defending tournament medalist from last spring, shot a consistent 5-over par 76. He shot a 37 on the front nine and finished with a 39. Dittmer tied Cameron’s Carter Morrison for low-score honors. Morrison shot 40-36.

After finishing 18th last year, the host Spartans moved up the standings. Richmond combined to shoot a 359 and took seventh. Warrensburg placed third with 342, followed by KC Barstow with 343, St. Joseph Central with 346 and Excelsior Springs placed sixth with 353.

Harrisonville and Trenton each shot 360 to tie for eighth spot with Pembroke Hill rounding out the top 10 with a 362. Lawson shot a 381 to finish 13th.
