The Spartan golf team picked up two more MRVC East victories Friday afternoon as they tuned up for today’s Smith-Cotton Classic at the Sedalia Country Club.

Richmond ran its conference mark to 4-0, while also improving to 6-1 in all matches with the two wins. Three Spartans shot 45 or under as they turned in a team total 183 to easily get past visiting Carrollton and Higginsville at the Shirkey Golf Course. The Huskers ended the afternoon with 236, which was a pair of shots better than Carrollton.

Richmond’s No. 2 and No. 3 players tied for medalist honors for the triangular. Reece Milligan, the No. 2 player and Philip Kincaid, at the No. 3 position, both carded a 44 on the par-36 front nine. Zach Frederick, the No. 1 player for Richmond, was just one shot off his teammate’s round.
