Ray County Humane Society: Special cats, dogs looking for homes

This is Shiloh, a male beagle mix who’s one of several pets looking for homes at the Humane Society shelter.

The Humane Society of Ray County has a selection of adoptable cats and dogs at its shelter. Regular adoption days are held each Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at 200 S. College St. (the old county jail).
Adoption coordinator Shirley Saulter can answer questions and set up times for shelter visits at 816-776-8576 or 816-456-4976.
Adoption fees are $100 for dogs or $80 for cats, which includes spay/neutering, shots, tests and microchipping for dogs.

The pets pictured here (clockwise, starting top left) are Buddy, a year-old male who is friendly and enjoys being petted; O.G., a year-old male mixed breed that weights around 40 pounds, loves to play and is learning to sit; Shiloh, a small male beagle mix, around 5 1/2 years old, who is friendly, likes people and loves to play, and Juliette, a year-old female cat with very soft fur. She’s friendly and affectionate and rooms with her brother Buddy.
