Winter holds its grip with snow expected until the weekend
keeping its roar.
Spring is officially here, but prognosticators are calling for more of the white stuff through the weekend. Cold air will set the stage for light snow today and tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill. A dusting to an inch is predicted.
A more substantial storm is expected this weekend, bringing the best chance of snow accumulations Saturday night into Sunday. Where and how much “is in the air” for now, as tricky weather patterns have the National Weather Service guessing as to where it will land. What they do know is temperatures will remain 15 to 20 degrees below average until early next week.
Eastern Commissioner Allen Dale said county road crews are still in winter mode and are prepared with what Mother Nature brings.
“We’re up to par. We still have chains on our graders,” he said.
