MONDAY, MARCH 25

From Noon to 1 p.m., The Richmond Ministerial Alliance is sponsoring Holy Week luncheons. The Richmond United Methodist Church, 212 West Main Street, Richmond will host this event. Local churches will provide the lunch. Following lunch there will be a brief service of devotion, with one of the local pastors speaking. The public is invited.

TUESDAY, MARCH 26

At 7 p.m., The Fourth Tuesday Grief Support Group will meet at the United Christian Presbyterian Church, 501 North Spartan Drive, in Richmond Mo.  This is a non-denominational support group open to anyone dealing with issues of grief and loss.  For more information call 816-217-3596 or 816-517-9343.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27

THURSDAY, MARCH 28

At 9 a.m., Connect with your well deserved VA Benefits. Hearing problems? Agent oranged? Meetings will be held every Thursday at the Veterans Building on Clark Street.  Contact Jim Rippy for more information at 816-739-9899.

At 6 p.m., The Ray County Democrats will meet on Thursday, March 28th at the Richmond Housing Authority, 302 N. Camden.  The Democrat Committee will meet with the Democrat Club meeting at 7 p.m.

At 7 p.m., The United Christian Presbyterian Church and the Richmond United Methodist Church invite you to attend their annual Maundy Thursday service at Richmond United Methodist Church. This service will feature the sacrament of Holy Communion and the message will be by Pastor Johnson of the UCP Church. All are welcome.

FRIDAY, MARCH 29

At noon, Rotary meets weekly at Shirkey’s19th Hole.

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

Beginning at 7 a.m., Team Rossy – 5K Walk or Run to benefit Relay for Life will be held at Norborne High School.  Contact Tina Lyon at 660-542-8653 for more information.

Beginning at 9 a.m., The City of Richmond Recreation department along with several area businesses and individuals will host the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Maurice Roberts Park.  Grades 2-4 will hunt at 9 a.m., grades K-1 will hunt at 10 a.m., and birth to preschool will hunt at 11 a.m.

From 1 to 3 p.m., Excelsior Springs VA will host a open house at 197 McCleary Rd., Excelsior Springs.  Bring a copy of your DD-214 to enroll for healthcare benefits.

From 1 to 4 p.m., A combined Wedding Anniversary party for J.B. and Betty Lou Martin, and their neighbors and friends,Al and Dortha Wilson will be held at the Ray County Museum. Please call Linda  Martin Emley at 776-2305 if you have any questions.

SUNDAY, MARCH 31

 At 10 a.m.,  The Richmond United Methodist Church located at 212 West Main Street in Richmond will hold their Celebration of the Resurrection Communion Service during the regular worship service. The United Methodist Church has an open communion table, and all are welcome to receive. For more information call 816-776-2122.

 

Saturday, April 6, 2013 – The Jesse James Old West Revolver Shoot will be at the James Farm, 21216 Jesse James Farm Road, Kearney. Registration is 8 a.m. and the shoot begins at 9 a.m. Participants can test their skills on the favorite targets of Buck and Dingus, aka Frank and Jesse James and win a prize. Shoot includes: cap and ball revolver and frontier cartridge revolver. Replicas are OK. Fixed sights and dueling stance only. Entrance fee is $15, plus $5 for the additional/special target of the coward Bob Ford. Jesse James medallion prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. The event is sponsored by the Clay County Park, Recreation and Historic Sites and the Friends of the James Farm. For more information, call 816-736-8500.

Meeting times for Richmond AA and Al-Anon are:  Mondays noon and 8 p.m., Tuesdays noon and 8 p.m., Wednesdays at noon, Thursdays at noon, Fridays noon and 8 p.m. (open meetings), Saturdays noon and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 10 a.m. Open meetings include the first and third Fridays and a 6 p.m. Sunday Big Book Study. Al-Anon meets at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. Both groups meet at 304 W. Franklin St., Richmond.
