Eighth Circuit Court Judge David Miller sentenced Charles Logan Politte of Carrollton to a total of 18 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. He was sentenced to 15 year for forcible rape and three years for assault in the second degree. The sentences will run concurrently.
In January, a Ray County jury found Politte guilty of forcible rape, assault in the second degree and armed criminal action in a case that stemmed from a June 10, 2011 incident.
Carroll County Prosecutor Cassandra Brown argued for a 25-year sentence. Brown presented evidence over a two-day period in January in the Eighth Circuit courtroom in Richmond.
After deliberating for around an hour and a half, the jury returned with a guilty verdict on all three counts.
