Long-time board member Tim Twyman was recognized by Superintendent Aerin O’Dell during his final meeting as Orrick School Board member at a meeting held Monday. Twyman, a nine-year member, did not put his name on the ballot for the April 2 election.
O’Dell took time out during the meeting to thank Twyman for his service to the board.
“After nine years on the board, we really appreciate the things you have done for our faculty, our staff, our students and the district as a whole,” she said. “You have been a very valuable board member and we thank you so much for all of your volunteer work.”
Twyman told the board it has been a fun and interesting experience serving with them.
“It’s been a real honor and privilege for me to represent the people of this district,” he said. “I think in a larger sense, in a small town, your school district is your town. Small towns don’t survive without a school and the decisions made in this room affect the entire town. So it’s been a very humbling and awesome opportunity to be able to get in on this board.”
Board president Art Endsley also thanked Twyman for his input.
“The district appreciates your hard work,” Endsley said. “Thank you for your stewardship.”
