Mary Ellen Norris, 82, of Richmond, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mary was born Aug. 17, 1930 in Morgan County, to Walter and Hazel (Marriott) Bauer. She married Kenneth E. Norris of Richmond in December of 1972: he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include one step-son, John Norris of Rayville; two step-daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Jim Richardson of Richmond, Patricia and Dennis Estes of Richmond; one brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Shirley Bauer of Versailles; one sister and brother-in-law, Cora and Harley Hathaway of Memphis, Tenn.; five step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Kelly Bauer; and one sister, Norma DeWeerdt.
Mary was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith. Mary had lived in the Kansas City and Richmond areas most of her life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, at 2 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Monday, March 4, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
