Lois Jean Alnutt, 70, of Richmond, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at her home.
Lois Jean was born Oct. 3, 1942 in Richmond, to Earl M. and Lois J. (Miller) Thomas.
She married Keith E. Alnutt of Lawson, Nov. 22, 1967. He preceded her in death Aug. 3, 2011.
Survivors include; two sons, Steven Wayne Alnutt of Richmond, Scott Thomas Alnutt and his wife, Heather of Murrieta, Calif.; two grandchildren, Sean Thomas and Ashlee Renee’ Alnutt; as well as many cousins and family members in Missouri and Pennsylvania.
Lois Jean received her L.P.N. degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1963. She worked as an L.P.N. for over 50 years at Ray County Memorial Hospital, Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and most recently at the Lexington Care Center. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of the Richmond All Sports Club. Lois Jean had been a den mother in the Boy Scouts. She had worked at the Richmond Daily News for over six years. She was a lifelong Richmond resident. Lois Jean was a “Mother of two. Mom to many!”
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond High School Athletic Department.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be in Sunny Slope Cemetery at a later date.
