5:15 p.m. with weigh-in, Weight Watchers will meet at the Ray County Health Department, 820 E. Lexington St., Richmond.


From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., T.O.P.S. meets every Monday at the Richmond United Christian Presbyterian Church at 501 N. Spartan Dr.


At 7 p.m., River Valley Master Gardeners will meet at the Battlefield Visitor Center, 1101 Delaware St. in Lexington. Bring your gardeniing questions to the meeting for some help from area gardeners.



From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., AARP Tax Aide Foundation will provide free tax preperation for 60 & older and low-income taxpayers at the Ray County Library Community Room.


At 1:30 p.m., The Allen-Morton-Watkins Chapter, NSDAR, will meet at the Richmond Methodist Church.  The “Good Citizens” from the senior class of each of the county high schools will be honored.  Parents and grandparents are welcome.  Hostesses are Bonnie McCalley and Jo Ellen Dale.



11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Annual St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon at United Christian Presbyterian Church, 501 N. Spartan Dr. Lunch is $8.50 and includes corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, soda bread or cornbread, dessert and drink. Carry out is available by calling 816- 776-6246. Everyone welcome!


At 6:30 p.m., Ray County Health Department, 820 E. Lexington St. in Richmond, will offer a two-hour food handler safety training class. Those preparing or serving food for public consumption or non-profit fundraisers are strongly encouraged to attend. The class is free. Class size is limited; call 816-776-5413 to pre-register.



At 9 a.m., Connect with your well deserved VA Benefits.  Hearing problems? Agent oranged? Meetings will be held every Thursday at the Veterans Building on Clark St.  Contact Jim Rippy for more information 816-739-9899.



From 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Team Derek Fundraiser at Richmond High School. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Richmond Christian Union Church, 415 E. North Main, will host a ham and bean dinner. Cost is a $5 donation.


From 11 a.m. to ? Hardin Fire Department first annual open house and spaghetti dinner at it new facility on 1st Street. Dinner includes salad, bread, dessert and drink Freewill donation. Proceeds go to the fire department.


From 4:30 to 7 p.m., Polo Masonic Lodge #232, 416 Main St., will host a fish fry. Free will donation. All proceeds go toward the lodge’s scholarship fund and local charities.


From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Orrick Lion’s Club will hold a Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner at the Lion’s Club.  Free will donation.


From 7 to 10 p.m., the Country Shindig will play at the Lawson Community Center. Refreshments provided. Admission is free; donations are welcome. For more information, call 816-628-0279.
