The Hardin-Central Lady Bulldogs had just enough offense to advance to this evening’s semifinal contest of the CLAA Tournament at Tina-Avalon. The Lady Bulldogs, now 14-7, defeated the tournament hosts 39-28 in the first round Monday night and will meet Norborne for the third time this season today at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs shot 39 percent from the field and made half of their 8 free throws for the win. Olivia Ellis led the way for Hardin-Central with a game-high 13 points, to go along with 7 rebounds, while Kasi Arbogast added 12 points.
The Lady Dawgs grabbed a 14-6 lead after 8 minutes and held a 25-14 lead at the intermission. However, the Hardin-Central offense went cold in the third quarter as the Lady Bulldogs added only a pair of field goals. Tina-Avalon could not take advantage, but still managed to cut the lead to 29-22 heading into the fourth period.
