The Orrick Bearcats ran into a hot-shooting Sweet Springs Greyhound squad on its home court Tuesday night. Four Greyhounds reached double figures as Sweet Springs shot 53 percent from the field in an 88-50 I-70 Conference victory over the Bearcats.
Jacob Schowengerdt led the way for the Hounds as they improve to 16-7 overall and 2-3 in the league. The Sweet Springs junior hit 11 of his 15 field goal attempts, including 6 of 8 outside the arc on the way to scoring a game-high 29 points. Spenceer Thomas hit 4 of his 5 attempts from 3-point range as he chalked up 16 points coming off the bench.
Also for Sweet Springs, Spencer Thomas added 17 points and Derrick Nelson hit for 10 points to go along with a half dozen rebounds.
