It was rematch week for the Hardin-Central Bulldogs at the Class 1, District 13 tournament at Braymer. The Bulldogs met the same two teams in the first two rounds of the tournament that they concluded the regular season with last week. The Dawgs met each with equal success as they advanced to the district championship game Friday night at 7:30 against top-seeded Wellington-Napoleon.
The Bulldogs, now 20-7, defeated the host Bobcats for the second time in as many meetings Wednesday night 45-42 in the semifinals. Braymer ends the year with a 19-8 record. No other information is available from Wednesday night’s game due to the earlier press time.
Although the point difference was a little less than in the first meeting, the Hardin-Central Bulldogs had few problems with Wentworth again in the opening round Tuesday night. The Dawgs held a slim 13-11 lead after 8 minutes, but a 16-8 scoring difference in the second period started Hardin-Central well on its way to the win. The Bulldogs held a 29-19 lead at the half and then outscored the Dragons 12-8 in the third frame and 15-11 over the final period.
