Dennis Clyde Howe, 61, Richmond, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at his home.
Dennis was born June 6, 1951 in Osceola, Iowa to Gerald Fazel and Roberta Ilene (Shinn) Howe.
Survivors include his fiancé, Lori Gilliland of Richmond; one son and daughter-in-law, Bradly and Audrie Howe of Kahoka; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Kathy Howe of Excelsior Springs, Lanny Howe of Oak Grove, Roger and Karen Howe of St. Joseph, and Michael and Tina Howe of Lawson; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Gore of Orrick; and seven grandchildren, Chase Howe, Conner Gregory, Winter Gregory, Zalie Gregory, Brooklyn Howe, Gabriel Howe and Ryder Howe.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by one daughter, Jenifer Howe.
Dennis was a 1971 graduate of Orrick High School. He was a welder and worked for K.A.W. Transport in Liberty for over 30 years. Dennis was owner and operator of “Design With Iron” in Richmond. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local # 41 and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. He was a member of the Rock Falls Baptist Church. Dennis lived in the Richmond area most of his life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, northeast of Richmond.
