The Orrick Bearcats ended their season Tuesday with a first-round, 61-47 loss to the host Braymer Bobcats in the opening round of the Class 1, District 13 tournament. The Bearcats end the campaign 0-22, while Braymer improved to 19-7 going in the tournament semifinals.
Orrick Coach Jared McMahon said his Bearcats improved throughout the season.
“We have made strides from the beginning of the season,” he said. “I was really proud of the effort these boys ended the season on.”
Mason Karnes scored a game-high 20 points for the Bearcats, with Tanner Wyse adding 15.
Orrick trailed 21-12 after the opening 8 minutes. Braymer held a 19-11 scoring edge in the second period and then took a 54-33 cushion into the fourth period.
Four Bobcats reached double digits as Braymer shot 43 percent from the field, including 6 of 13 outside the 3-point arc.
