Richmond Ward III and IV voters will have a new place to cast their votes April 2.
Ray County Clerk Glenda Powell said Ray County Courthouse has become too crowded to serve all of the voters of Richmond.
“It was very crowded,” Powell said of the situation during the November election. “We received a lot of complaints and handicapped accessibility was constantly full.” A lack of parking and voters braving the elements as they waited in lines outside the courthouse were other considerations for the move, she said.
