The one-two scoring punch of Kayla Thompson and Katie Kropp was too much for the Hardin-Central Lady Bulldogs Monday night in Wellington.
The two Lady Tigers combined for 34 points to lead Class 1’s No. 3-ranked Wellington-Napoleon to a 58-41 victory.
Thompson hit for a game-high 18 points, while Kropp converted 12 of 15 free throws on her way to a 16-point night as the Lady Tigers improved to 18-1. Olivia Ellis led the Hardin-Central scoring with 14 points as the Lady Bulldogs fall to 13-8.
The Lady Tiger defense also came up with 17 steals for the night as Thompson and Kaitlyn Jones recorded 4 apiece.
The Lady Tigers held an 18-15 lead after the first 8 minutes, but then held the visiting Lady Dawgs scoreless in the second quarter as Wellington bolted to a 33-15 lead at the half.
