With only six varsity wrestlers making the trip to Lathrop, the Richmond Spartans had a tough time in a triangular with the host Mules and West Platte. The Spartans dropped both duals Tuesday night as they fell to Lathrop 57-16 and to West Platte 36-25.
The Spartans surrendered 30 points to West Platte and 42 points to Lathrop on open weight classes. Richmond picked up one win each against Lathrop and West Platte by an open.
The Spartans won two contested matches against Lathrop. Caleb Scarborough won his 182-pound match by a 14-6 major decision over Taylor Jeremy, and Alexander Hays won by fall in 2:42 over Dalton Osborne at 285. Kaleb Heber was open at 220 for Richmond’s other 6 points.
