Nancy Ann Simmons Hockemeier, 73, passed away Jan. 4, 2013 at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City.
Nancy was born Aug. 26, 1939, to Benjamin Franklin and Eudora (Abbot) Simmons in Norborne. In 1958, Nancy married Charles William Hockemeier in Norborne.
She is survived by her daughter Amy Denise, husband Sean McKee and one grandson, Alex of Lee’s Summit; one brother Charles Simmons and wife Esther of Richmond; three brothers-in-law Harrell Hockemeier and wife Karen of Versailles, Jack Denzer of Overland Park, Kan., and Arthur Moline of Plainfield, Ill.; two sisters-in-law Florence Simmons of Napa, Cali., and Elsie Simmons of Otterville; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by one son, Scott Harrell in 1987, her parents, four sisters: Margarite, Katherine, Rosemary and Imogene; five brothers: Elmore, Albert, Bobby, Richard and Donald.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, with funeral services immediately following at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Mo., 64131. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
