Lillian L. Richie, 90, of Richmond, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Lillian was born Nov. 8, 1922 in Plattsburg, to Elmer Francis and Synthia Jane (Covey) Holman. She married Herschell J. Richie of Kansas City, Mo. March 5, 1944; he preceded her in death March 13, 1975.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Rhonda Richie of Cowgill; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Larry Green of Richmond, Jane and Kenneth Eastep of Richmond, Terry and James Keen of Richmond and Kathy and Robert Buchanan of Richmond; one brother Junior S. Holman and Pat of Kingston; one sister, Rudy V. Blakely of Lawson; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Holman; and four sisters, Margaret Moore, Frances Boone, Marie Pike and Louise Troutz.
Lillian worked in quality control as Inspector for Tredagar Manufacturing in Excelsior Springs. She was of the Baptist faith. She had lived in Richmond most of her life.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Unit at Shirkey’s in memory of Lillian.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
