Hot-shooting Tigers stop Hardin-Central

Wellington-Napoleon shot 58 percent from the field Monday night to down visiting Hardin-Central 80-44. Christian Bryant led the way for the Tigers as he hit 11 of his 16 shots to score a game-high 24 points to help Wellington-Napoleon improve to 13-6 overall. Brandon Niendick added 18 points and a half-dozen assists, with Jacob Beckemeyer chipping in 10 more for the Tigers.

The Bulldogs, now 13-5, shot 35 percent from the field and were led by Colton Layman’s 13 points, and Cole Leakey with 12. Leakey completed a double-double for Hardin-Central as he grabbed 10 rebounds to go with his scoring total.

The Tigers built a 17-13 lead after 8 minutes and then increased their lead to 37-25 by the intermission.
