Gladys Sherard Hunt, 92, of Wentzville, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.
She was born Feb. 25, 1920, being the fourth child of Emory H. and Lee Coulson Sherard, on a farm north of Maysville. She graduated from Maysville High School in 1937 and attended the former Chillicothe Business College. She worked over thirty years at the Garner-McCaulley Insurance & Abstract Office in Richmond, and the former Home Savings & Loan Company in Hardin.
Gladys previously lived in Richmond and St. Joseph, before moving to Wentzville in 2010.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty (Max) Jarvis of Wentzville; Beverly (Doug) Vernier, of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren, Brian Jarvis of St. Charles; Kathy (Mike) Block of West Plains; Michelle (Eric) Miranda of Overland Park, Kan.; and Kelly Garoutte of Fair Play, Colo.. She also is survived by three great-grandchildren, Joseph and Kristina Block of West Plains, and Camron Miranda of Overland Park, Kan. Survivors also include three stepsons, James (Margaret) P. Hunt and family of Arizona, John W. (Joyce) Hunt and family of Arizona, Charles (Mary) McCoppin and family of Red Oak, Iowa, and one stepdaughter, Sue (Roy) Rupp of Lee’s Summit; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands – Turner C. Howell, Grover Price and John W. Hunt, also three brothers, Coulson, Lloyd and Roy Sherard; and one sister Marietta Owen.
Memorial Contributions: Wyatt Park Christian Church in St. Joseph, Maysville Christian Church or the Maysville Senior Center in Maysville.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Bram-Turner Funeral Home of Maysville. Visitation prior to service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial with committal service: 2 p.m. at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Richmond. www.bram-turnerfuneralhome.com
