Elizabeth Hart, 87, of Parsons, died at 5 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at the Elmhaven West Nursing Home in Parsons, Kan. She had been in failing health.
She was born April 19, 1925, in Ray County, to Arthur R. and Anna S. (Falls) Proffitt. She grew up in the Hardin, area and attended the Hardin High School.
On Dec. 27, 1941 she and Oscar L. Wallace were married at Lexington. They moved to Dennis in 1943 and to Parsons in 1954. Mr. Wallace died March 11, 1959. She married Wilbur L. Bolander Sept. 9, 1961 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1976. She and Dale W. Hart were married Dec.1, 1984 and he survives.
She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and in earlier days was active in playing softball.
Survivors include her husband Dale W. Hart of the home, one daughter Mary Jane Widmer and her husband Gary of Irving, Texas, three sons; Jake Wallace and wife Mary of Olathe, Kan.; Ray Wallace of Texas; Terry Wallace and wife Becky of Double Oak, Texas; daughter-in-law Ellen Wallace of Decatur, Ala.; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren,
Step-sons; Donald Bolander of Elwood, Kan.; Richard Bolander of Flint, Mich.; Bob Bolander of Springfield.
Preceding her in death was a son, Bob Wallace and two brothers, Robert Profitt and Milford Proffitt.
Funeral services will be will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m., Sunday. Memorials are suggested to the Faith United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
