Donna M. Simpson
Donna M. Simpson, 60, of Orrick, and formerly of Richmond, died Tuesday, Jan, 22, 2013 at her home.
Donna was born Nov. 17, 1952 in Excelsior Springs, to Donald Eugene and Lois Ruth (Nelson) Paden. She married Gary Lynn Simpson of Hardin, Aug. 7, 1971; he survives of the home.
Donna was a 1970 graduate of Richmond High School. She worked for 61 Country Radio Station as a Traffic Manager for 17 years and for KMBC channel 9 News for 9 years. She was also a dispatcher for Ray County Transportation. Donna was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Richmond. She had lived in the Richmond area most of her life.
Additional survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy Leigh and Josh Hoover of Independence; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Kathy Paden of Rayville; four grandchildren, SP/4 Matthew Simpson and his wife, Hannah of Ft. Hood, Texas, Lily Hoover, Joshua Cole Hoover and Lauren Hoover; and one great-grandson, Brantley Simpson.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by one brother, John Paden.
The Family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Ignatius Seminary Support.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 24, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
