Alice Rice Thornburg, 99, died Jan. 21, 2013 at her residence in Greeley, Colo.
She was born Feb. 7, 1913 to Frank and Daisie Davis in Richmond. She attended Richmond schools, graduated Richmond High School in 1930 and attended Lindenwood College, St. Charles, 1931-33. She was appointed Deputy Circuit Clerk, Ray County, in 1934 and served 10 years. She moved to Denver 1944.
On Feb. 1, 1952 she married Robert T. Thornburg of Moberly. They lived in Jefferson City, for one year where Bob was State Comm. of Agriculture. In 1953 they moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where Bob was Executive Director, American Petroleum Institute, Minnesota Petroleum Council. They lived there for 26 years until his retirement in 1979.
Her husband Robert died Nov. 2, 1991.
Survivors include nephews Rick Thornburg, Huntsville, and Wm. H. Thornburg of Boulder, Colo. Alice has resided at The Bridge in Greeley, Colo. since 2002.
Graveside service to be at Oakland Cemetery, Moberly, Sunday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m.
