Travis William Loyd, 28, of Hardin, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at his home.
Travis was born May 17, 1984 in Richmond, to William Dean and Cora Jane “Janie” (Burk) Loyd. Travis was married to Becky Dessele of Richmond; they later divorced.
Travis has worked various jobs in the area. He was last employed with G&L Trucking in Richmond. He was of the Christian faith. He had lived his entire life in Hardin where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all his children.
Survivors include two sons, Damien Loyd of Lexington, and Dylan Taber of Richmond; one daughter, Hailey Loyd of the home; his father, William Dean Loyd of Booneville; his mother, Janie Loyd of the home; half-brother, Chris Loyd of Excelsior Springs; paternal grandmother, Rose Loyd of Henrietta; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Beverly Burk of Hardin; and great-grandfather, Benny Lawson of Hardin.
Travis was preceded in death by his parental grandfather, Bill Loyd; and his maternal great-grandmother, Cora Lawson.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hardin Fire Department.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 3 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 18, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Black Oak Cemetery near Braymer.
