The Richmond Spartans followed the hot shooting of Lendarrius Pritchett and Reid Summers Monday night to pick up a decisive 64-44 victory at Excelsior Springs. Pritchett hit for a game-high 29 points, with Summers adding 19 more as Richmond won its fifth consecutive game and improved to 7-2 heading into Friday night’s NCMC Holiday matchup with Maryville in Trenton.
“Dee and Reid put on an offensive clinic, and it was fun to watch,” Richmond Coach Duane Bastob said. “Both had five 3-pointers and numerous good passes. Everyone handled the press that Excelsior Springs threw out and the confidence displayed was outstanding.”
Bastob also liked the inside work of John Landwehr and Derek Rickart.
The Spartans shot 52 percent from the field and committed only 5 turnovers against the Tiger press. Pritchett knocked down 5 of his 7 3-point attempts for the night, in addition to dishing out a team-high 6 assists.
