Robert T. “Coach” Shearer, passed Dec. 6, 2012, at the VA Hospital.
He was born Sept. 23, 1923 to Glen and Noni Shearer. Bob spent his life as a teacher and high school football coach, retiring from coaching at the age of 78.
He is a member of the Missouri Coaches Hall of Fame. Bob was a WWII Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, son and wife, Nancy, of 62 years.
Bob married Norma Starks on Sept. 26, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Norma; sons, “Spook” and wife, Linda of Lawson, Brad and wife, Ty, of Polo; daughter, Debbie Glenn and husband, Rick of Lawson; two grandkids, Chad Glenn and wife, Lisa of Lawson, and Tiffany Pennington and husband, Cody of Kearney; four great-grandkids, Kayla and Cody Glenn, Madison and Morgan Pennington; one sister, Virginia Nolker, Lawson.
A celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Dec. 15, at Polo High School auditorium.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Polo High School, in Robert’s name. Memorial contributions may be sent to: Polo High School, 300 West School Street, Polo, MO 64671
