Paul D. “Moose” Covey

Paul D. Covey, 54, of Camden, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 near Camden.

Paul was born Aug. 24, 1958 to Paul W. and Geneva B. (Marrs) Covey.

Survivors include three brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Karen Covey of Camden, Charles Covey of Camden and William and Dorothy Covey of Liberty; two sisters and brother-in-law, Verna Lee Wilson of Belton,  and Marshiela and Edwin Shelton of Excelsior Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Covey; and one brother-in-law, Wayne Wilson.

Paul was a 1976 graduate of Richmond High School. Paul worked as a farmhand since graduating from high school, first for J.E. Seward, then Stoenner Farms, and currently Vandiver Farms for a total of over forty years.

  He was a member of the Camden Baptist Church. He was a lifelong Camden resident.

  The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Paul D. Covey Memorial Fund.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15,  at 2:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 15, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Todd’s Chapel Cemetery west of Richmond. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.     We were so shocked and saddened by the news of “Moose” passing. I always considered him a friend and a very nice guy. I will miss him. My thoughts are with you all. He will always be “Moose” to us Camdenites!
