Devon Heins scored 19 of her 22 points in the first half, but that was enough to help St. Paul to a 56-30 win over Orrick Friday night in the consolation game of the I-70 Conference Tournament at Lone Jack.
Heins hit five of her six 3-point buckets in the first two frames and added her final one in the third quarter. The Saints held a 10-8 lead after the opening quarter, but things fell apart for Orrick in the second quarter with St. Paul breaking loose for a 21-3 scoring advantage.
Orrick, now 4-4, managed just a Madison Winters field goal and a free throw from Sydnee McGlothlin in the second period. The Lady Bearcats continued to struggle in the third quarter with just a field goal and a pair of free throws as St. Paul built a 46-15 cushion heading into the final 8 minutes.
