Mary Keturaha Fitzgerald

Mary Keturaha Fitzgerald, 79, of Richmond, passed away Dec. 17, 2012.

Mary was born January 26, 1933 in Trenton.

Mary graduated from Gilman City High School.  She worked for Cheryl Crystals, Whitaker Cable, and Boatman’s Bank in Kansas City, before retiring.  She was also a Foster Grandpareent for the Richmond School District and loved helping out with the young children, teaching them to read and write.

Survivors include her loving children, Sara Hufford (Eldon), of Richmond, Donald Fitzgerald Jr. (Dalana), of Richmond, and Gary Fitzgerald (Ida), of Liberty.  Her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Lacey Whitt (Patrick), Jayme Fitzgerald, Cole, Caleb, Caitlyn Fitzgerald, and Joni, Wesley, Rebecca Hufford.  Also, her sister, Reba, brothers Thomas Scott Jr. and Morris Scott.  Several nieces and nephews as well as several wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Reba Scott and her sisters, Marie Roush, Julie Glenn, and one brother Lee Scott.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday Dec. 21, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to The First Baptist Church of Richmond in care of her Sunday School class, Good News Class.

    Sara, so sorry for your loss. Another angel has rec’d her wings, and you will be blessed by her continued ability to protect you from all harm. I only knew your mother briefly, but seems like longer. Have been meaning to call you, will give you some time, and may surprise you when you least expect it. How are your tree’s doing ;)
    Remember the memories, and she will live on in all your hearts.

    Sara, Eldon and family. Our sympathies to you on your loss. I know it wasn’t unexpected but that doesn’t make it any easier. Our prayers are with you. See you soon.
