Orrick trailed visiting East Buchanan by a pair after the first quarter Thursday night, but a 20-10 scoring advantage in the second period was enough to lift the Lady Bearcats to their third consecutive victory, 57-50.
Madison Winters led the Orrick charge in the second frame as she hit for 12 of her game-high 25 points. The Orrick junior hit 10 of 16 field goals, and one of 2 3-point buckets and completed her double-double for the night by pulling down 10 rebounds to go along with 3 steals.
“It was a good win for us,” Orrick Coach Mitch Comstock said. “We played with a great amount of energy and battled a good team for 32 minutes. Madison Winters had a great night and really took over the game. We also got a strong game from Sam Fulte. I am so proud of the improvement I am seeing from my two junior post players, Sydnee McGlothlin and Madison Endsley.”
Fulte was 5 of 8 from the field on her way to scoring 14 points. McGlothlin and Endsley were strong on the boards with 6 rebounds apiece.
