Jimmy Wayne “Peepers” Hardwick
Jimmy Wayne “Peepers” Hardwick, 70, of Richmond, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at his home.
Jimmy was born April 13, 1942 in Richmond to James Lewis and Mary Ann (McGaugh) Hardwick. He was first married to Pamela Hicks of Richmond Aug. 22, 1964; to this union two daughters where born, Stacy Lynn and Stephanie Ann. He then married Barbara Sue O’Dell of Richmond on March 7, 1980; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include his wife, Barbara Hardwick; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy Lynn and Craig Henry of Richmond and Stephanie Ann and Chris Bryant of Richmond; 5 grandchildren, Cody Henry, Michael Dorton, Haley Hampton, Cady Henry and Connor Bryant; and 3 great-grandchildren, Cael Dorton, Faith Bivines and Bella Bivines.
Jimmy worked for General Motors at the Fairfax Plant from 1964 starting as a painter and retiring as a Quality Inspector in 2005. He attended the Richmond Christian Union Church. He had lived in the Richmond area all of his life. Jimmy was a member of the U.A.W. Union local #31. He was a United States Army Veteran.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Richmond Christian Union Church or to the Crossroads Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at 1:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 7, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
