A slow start helped send the Orrick Bearcats to a 71-44 loss Tuesday night against visiting Plattsburg. The Tigers bolted out to a 23-7 first-quarter lead and never looked back as they dropped Orrick to 0-10 for the season.
“We didn’t come out ready to play and that will kill you against a talented team like Plattsburg,” Orrick Coach Jared McMahon said.
Andrew Dickerson scored a game-high 23 points to help Plattsburg pick up its fourth win in the last five games to improve to 4-3 overall.
Mason Karnes led the Orrick effort with 16 points, while Tanner Werle added 15 points as he connected on five 3-point buckets for the night.
“Tanner Werle shot the ball well and Mason played aggressive offensively,” McMahon said. “But we turned the ball over too much and allowed too much dribble penetration and second-chance shots.”
