The Hardin-Central Lady Bulldogs held Hale to just 5 points in the final 8 minutes Tuesday night to push them to a 49-38 CLAA victory over the visiting Cardinals. Hardin-Central, now 6-3 overall and 3-2 in league play, took a 35-33 lead into the fourth period.
The Lady Dawg defense allowed only a 3-point bucket and a pair of free throws, while the offense broke loose for 14 points to seal the win. Hardin-Central held a 14-10 lead after the opening quarter and by the intermission, the contest was tied 22-22. The Lady Bulldogs outscored Hale 13-11 in the third quarter before putting the game away in the fourth.
Olivia Ellis recorded a double-double for Hardin-Central with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Ellis posted 8 of her points in the decisive fourth quarter.
